Douglas “Doug” Dashiell is a partner at Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP in Austin, Texas. His practice focuses on Oil and Gas Law, including civil litigation, regulatory proceedings, and severance tax matters involving the energy industry. Doug represents operators, lessees, and lessors in matters before the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, and the Texas General Land Office.
Doug joined the firm in 1984 after working as a petroleum landman and completing law school. He is board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Over the course of his career, he has handled contested proceedings before the Railroad Commission of Texas and tried cases in courts throughout Texas involving oil, gas, and energy-related disputes.
A substantial portion of Doug’s practice involves advising clients on Texas severance tax matters, including administrative and regulatory issues before the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
