Dion K. Bass, Sr.

Dion K. Bass is a partner in Rivkin Radler LLP’s Jacksonville, Florida office. His practice focuses on Insurance Law, Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants, Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants, and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants. He regularly represents insurers, businesses, and professionals in complex defense matters throughout Florida and in state and federal courts.

Dion handles a wide range of litigation involving statutory interpretation and regulatory compliance, contractual disputes, property damage claims, and personal injury actions. His experience includes defending medical professionals, transportation and trucking companies, product manufacturers, and commercial entities. He has managed numerous matters from inception through trial, as well as dispositive motion practice, discovery, and alternative dispute resolution. His work also includes municipality defense, premises and general liability matters, and employment and labor disputes.

Dion earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he was an inaugural recipient of the Dean’s Leadership Award. During law school, he served as president of the UF Law Trial Team and as community service chair for the W. George Allen Chapter of the Black Law Students Association. He also worked as a teaching assistant, student ambassador, and member of the recruitment team, and was selected as one of two student advisors to the College of Law’s Faculty Appointment Committee. Dion received his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, with a minor in political science, from Troy University.

Prior to entering private practice, Dion served in the United States Air Force as an aerospace maintenance apprentice. After his military service, he worked with the Department of the Air Force as a youth development and family services specialist, supporting service members and their families, including more than three years stationed in Japan.

Outside of his legal practice, Dion enjoys spending time with his wife and children, participating in sports, and visiting the beach.
