Family Law matters often involve deeply personal issues and significant life transitions. Dimitra has spent more than twenty years representing clients in divorce and family law cases, including negotiation and litigation of a wide range of family-related disputes. Her approach emphasizes careful planning, clear communication, and an understanding of the emotional and practical challenges clients face during periods of change. She works closely with clients to understand their priorities and to develop family-centered strategies that align with their goals.
In addition to dispute resolution, Dimitra assists clients with proactive relationship planning. She regularly advises individuals and couples who plan to marry or cohabitate, helping them understand the legal implications of their decisions. Dimitra drafts and reviews prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements, offering practical recommendations tailored to each client’s objectives and circumstances.
The Adoption & Assisted Reproduction practice focuses on helping clients form and protect their families. As an Adoption Fellow, Dimitra guides families through a variety of adoption pathways and legal processes. She advises prospective adoptive parents during the matching process, assists with choice-of-law considerations, and supports clients through the legal steps required to complete an adoption. Dimitra works with families pursuing:
a) Independent, voluntary placement adoptions
b) Finalization of DCYF foster-to-adopt or other agency placements
c) Step-parent adoptions to provide long-term stability for children
d) Establishment of legal parentage for children conceived through assisted reproduction, including second-parent adoptions
e) Adult adoptions to legally confirm chosen family relationships
As an Assisted Reproduction / ART Fellow, Dimitra represents intended parents and donors involved in assisted reproductive arrangements, including surrogacy and ova, sperm, or embryo donation. She prepares and reviews legal agreements and legal clearance letters required before medical procedures can proceed. Dimitra also represents individuals who choose to serve as donors or surrogates, helping all parties understand their rights, responsibilities, and expectations. Her work includes advising on the appropriate legal process to establish and confirm parentage under Washington law and, when necessary, in other jurisdictions.
Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dimitra graduated from Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek, where she played soccer and fastpitch softball. She earned her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Menlo College in California while continuing to compete in fastpitch softball. After graduating cum laude from Seattle University School of Law, Dimitra joined Beresford Booth PLLC in 2004 and became a partner in 2016. She lives in Snohomish with her family and enjoys supporting her children’s activities, spending time outdoors, and volunteering with organizations that assist individuals with special needs.
