Deanna Wray joined Bodyfelt Mount as an associate in 2002, became a partner in 2006, served as managing partner from 2013 through 2017, and transitioned to an of counsel role in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Deanna was an associate with the trial lawyers at Gaylord, Eyerman & Bradley PC from 1998 to 2001. She also served as judicial clerk to the Honorable Janice R. Wilson, Circuit Court of the State of Oregon, from 1997 to 1998.
Deanna’s engineering background was a natural segue to representing product manufacturers. Over the years, she has defended a range of products including hand tools, printing presses, Murphy beds, bicycles, forklifts, automatic doors and toilets. Following in retired partner Dick Bodyfelt’s footsteps, Deanna is local counsel to Chrysler on all automotive product defect claims in Oregon. In addition, Deanna has defended general contractors and electricians on Employer Liability Act cases, and has presented on the topic at the Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Conference. Deanna’s most notable successes and greatest satisfaction come from crafting pre-trial resolutions for clients in catastrophic injury cases.
The firm also has a longstanding history of serving as primary and local counsel to asbestos, and drug and medical device clients. In recent years, Deanna has been involved in mass tort litigation of latex gloves, vaccines, Fen-phen, pain pumps, Metoclopramide, as well as defended a variety of individual medical equipment cases.
Deanna has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2011. Oregon Super Lawyers magazine lists Deanna in the category of Civil Litigation: Defense.
