David W. Noblit is a Chattanooga, Tennessee attorney with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan PLLC. He has practiced with the firm since 1979 and became a member in 1985. His practice focuses on representing clients involved in litigation involving a wide range of legal disputes, including insurance defense, liability claims, workers’ compensation matters, and personal injury litigation on behalf of defendants.
Mr. Noblit has represented national corporations through direct assignments and insurance defense referrals. He has served as trial counsel in state and federal courts in Tennessee and Georgia and, during the first 30 years of his practice, tried approximately 100 cases to verdict or judgment. His litigation experience led him to become involved in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He has served as a mediation advocate in more than 100 cases and was listed by the Supreme Court of Tennessee as a Rule 31 Mediator in 2000. He has conducted more than 850 mediations involving a wide variety of legal disputes.
His current practice includes insurance law, defense of liability and workers’ compensation claims, personal injury litigation on behalf of defendants, mediation, and representation of individuals in family law disputes.

Mr. Noblit is a member of the Chattanooga Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia (Emeritus status). He was invited to join the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators and the Brock Cooper American Inn of Court as a Master. He served on the Inn’s Executive Committee from 2008 to 2009 and as President from 2011 to 2012.
Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1953, Mr. Noblit attended local schools and was a scholarship athlete and student leader at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975. While attending Memphis State University School of Law, he served on the Law Review and was elected to Omicron Delta Kappa. He earned his Juris Doctor degree and served as a Graduate Assistant to University Counsel from 1978 to 1979.
