David Randazzo

David Randazzo joined Meridian Lawyers in October 2016 as a Principal in the Melbourne office. David is an experienced insurance litigator and has acted for numerous insurers (local and international), government authorities, construction groups and sporting associations since 2002. In addition to defending claims, David provides policy drafting advice and pursues recoveries for a national crop insurer.

Since being promoted to partner at a global firm in 2011, David has focussed on product liability, property damage, council liability and public liability matters. He has acted in numerous high value claims and has successfully defended (and prosecuted) several matters to verdict. David has a particular interest in industrial accident claims and regularly acts for non-employer defendants in claims by injured workers and statutory authorities. He also regularly defends manufacturers and suppliers in product liability claims and acts for a wide range of sporting bodies (including at a national level) in injury related matters. David has acted in medical negligence and professional indemnity claims, including claims against solicitors and barristers. David also provides general litigation advice to non-insurer clients and has acted in coronial inquests.

David was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2002. He is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Insurance Law Association.
