Biography

David is an associate at RAR Litigation Lawyers PC in Oakville, Ontario and a member of the firm’s Construction and Infrastructure Litigation Group. His practice focuses on Construction Law, with an emphasis on resolving complex construction disputes across Canada through litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and mediation.

David represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, including engineers and architects, consultants, sureties, and insurers involved in a wide range of construction projects. His work includes matters related to major infrastructure developments as well as specialized projects in sectors such as public transit, mining, hospitals, condominiums, and commercial construction.

He has experience with a variety of project delivery models, including design-build, EPC, EPCM, and P3 structures. David regularly assists clients with disputes involving delay and impact claims, construction deficiencies, breach of contract, insurance and bond coverage issues, construction liens, and breach of trust claims.

David provides practical legal guidance informed by the operational and contractual realities of construction projects. His approach focuses on helping clients assess risk, address disputes efficiently, and protect their interests throughout the life cycle of a project.

In addition to his legal practice, David serves as an Adjunct Professor in Durham College’s Faculty of Science and Engineering Technology, where he teaches construction contract administration and law. He also contributes to construction industry publications and has been recognized as a “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers Canada®.
