Client Testimonials

My wife Jutta and I have had Dave Sfara as our attorney for more than 20 years, using his legal expertise for some complicated estate work. Because of family deaths and other changes, we hired him to redo wills and trust agreements several times. In our opinion (having dealt with other lawyers in our 70 plus years), we consider Dave "of the highest rank"; he is knowledgeable, experienced, and masterly in analyzing and reworking difficult legal material, especially old trusts. In addition, he is very pleasant to work with, listening attentively to our concerns, and helping us make important decisions for the future. We praise his judgment and would recommend him to family and friends.

Case History

Cases
  • Hearst v. Ganzi, 145 Cal. App. 4th 1195, 52 Cal. Rptr.3d 473 (2006)
Appeared on behalf of beneficiary of William Randolph Hearst Trust in California proceedings in connection with petition filed by other beneficiaries asking that proposed action against trustees of the trust be found not to be a violation of the no contest clause of the Will of William Randolph Hearst. Successfully unsealed probate file in related proceeding. When petitioning beneficiaries appealed decision of lower court finding that the proposed petition violated no contest clause of Will, filed brief as amicus curiae in appellate proceeding in support of appellants. Although appellate division confirmed lower court ruling, footnotes 10 and 11 of the decision opened the door for filing a petition that would not violate the no contest clause.
