David J. Ross, K.C.

Dave Ross has represented employers in virtually all aspects of labour and employment law for more than 50 years.

He is a senior partner at McLennan Ross and is recognized as Alberta’s most experienced counsel representing management in labour relations and employment law. Dave has handled numerous precedent-setting cases in the complex areas of his labour practice before tribunals and all levels of the courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Dave’s experience has been routinely recognized by Chambers Global, Lexpert Legal Directory, the Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Best Lawyers in Canada, Who’s Who Legal, and Martindale-Hubbell.

His extensive experience in this area of practice includes constitutional law, strikes and lockouts, collective bargaining, union certification and revocation, unfair labour practice complaints, collective agreement rights arbitration, interest arbitration, mediation, wrongful dismissals, human rights issues, occupational health and safety issues, and pensions.

Dave has developed a keen focus in the area of construction and maintenance industry labour relations. This includes advising construction owners in respect to complex construction and maintenance projects involving strategic corporate structuring and the establishment of effective project agreements to cover construction and maintenance for billion-dollar project development.

Throughout his career, Dave has been involved with advising governments relating to the respective labour legislation in the Province of Alberta. He is and has been a trusted advisor to the Government of Alberta and its Premier and Ministers.
