David Blachly advises middle-market and growth companies, entrepreneurs, investors, business owners, and management teams on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Blachly represents clients in connection with business organizations, including LLCs and partnerships, corporate law matters, capitalization strategies, mergers and acquisitions, business sales, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, private offerings of equity and debt, succession planning, joint ventures, strategic alliances, technology licensing, and commercial contracts.
Mr. Blachly works with clients across a variety of industries, including software development and distribution, information technology consulting, internet-based businesses, manufacturing, transportation, automobile dealerships, trade associations, real estate development, and professional service firms, including architectural, engineering, and law firms. He provides practical legal counsel tailored to the operational and long-term business goals of his clients.
In addition to his corporate practice, Mr. Blachly advises clients on insurance law and reinsurance law matters, including insurance regulatory and transactional issues. His experience includes representing clients in mergers and acquisitions involving stock and mutual insurers, reciprocal insurance entities, and insurance agencies. He counsels clients on company formation and licensing, agent licensing, insurance company examinations, investment law compliance, reinsurance matters, and insurance holding company regulations.
Mr. Blachly earned his J.D. from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, and Indianapolis Bar Association, where he previously served as chairman.
