An experienced litigation attorney, West is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and has represented clients in more than 50 jury and non-jury trials and arbitrations in federal and state courts.
In addition to his litigation practice, West is a trusted advisor to banks on the rights or parties in accounts, powers of attorney, check fraud, ACH and wire fraud, elder fraud and Uniform Commercial Code issues.
West has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America ranking each year since 2011 and by Texas Super Lawyers each year since 2009. West previously served as the head of the Litigation Department and on the Management Advisory Committee of Cox & Smith Incorporated. He was part of the office of firm counsel for Cox & Smith and, subsequently, Dykema Gossett, PLLC where he practiced for more than 30 years. He was the Chair of the San Antonio Bar Association Litigation Section and a member of the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Bar Association.
Prior to private practice, West was a law clerk for The Honorable Thomas M. Reavley, Justice of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and The Honorable Jack Roberts, U. S. District Court.
