David Reed is a Richmond, Virginia attorney with Spotts Fain PC whose practice focuses on Real Estate Law, including the leasing, acquisition, development and sale of commercial and industrial properties throughout the United States and Canada. He represents clients in a broad range of commercial real estate matters involving office, warehouse, retail, distribution and industrial properties.
David has extensive experience advising clients on commercial leasing matters, including build-to-suit projects, “big box” retail leasing, portfolio management and the implementation of national development plans. His work includes negotiating and drafting agreements related to commercial property transactions, development projects and long-term leasing arrangements.
A significant portion of David’s practice involves representing public companies in the solid waste disposal industry. He has assisted clients with the acquisition, development and disposition of landfills, transfer stations, hauling facilities and recycling centers. He also advises clients on site leases and development matters involving alternative energy projects, including solar facilities and landfill gas operations.
Before joining private practice, David served as Associate General Counsel for Blockbuster, Inc., where he managed the company’s real estate legal matters and supported the national rollout of more than 500 stores annually. He also served as Senior Real Estate Counsel for AutoNation, Inc., handling a variety of commercial real estate and development matters.
