Darian Stanford joined Tonkon Torp's Litigation Department in 2018. He is first and foremost a trial attorney, who loves taking cases before a judge or jury. Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Darian was a named partner at Slinde Nelson Stanford LLC, where he managed a commercial litigation and administrative practice, and functioned as in-house counsel for a U.S. Department of Defense contractor.
Darian began his legal career in the General Litigation Practice Group at Stoel Rives LLP, representing clients in contract, construction, employment law, and government affairs, among other areas. In 2005, he transitioned to a position as a Deputy District Attorney for Multnomah County, where he prosecuted a range of crimes including gang violence and major felonies. In 2007, Darian also served as Counsel for the Oregon House and Senate Judiciary Committee.
Darian has worked as in-house litigation counsel for an international Fortune 500 company, managing its litigation in the U.S. and Europe, and devising pre-litigation solutions to global business problems. Additionally, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at Lewis & Clark Law School, teaching Criminal Procedure, and at Willamette University College of Law, teaching Sports Law.
