Q&A

Tell us a little bit about your practice and what makes it unique.

  • To us, it's Personal. Geherin Law Group, PLLC only represents individuals, and only represents individuals facing a personal legal crisis. Whether that personal legal crisis is being charged with a crime; or being arrested for drunk driving; or losing a loved one in a traffic accident; or having a driver's license revoked, our approach is always the same: Provide personal attention, and achieve personal justice for each client we represent. We are battle-tested, board-certified trial attorneys with the extensive experience and burning desire to help people through their personal legal crisis. Because we limit our practice to uniquely selective areas of expertise, we know how best to help people when they need it most. Civil, Criminal, License: If a client's personal legal crisis falls into one of these three categories, Geherin Law Group is ready to fight for them. To us, it's Personal.

What common questions are you asked by clients, and what are your answers?

  • How do I find the right attorney for my case, and who can I trust? This is probably the most common question we receive from potential clients. And each time, we suggest a client should do his/her homework before hiring any attorney. For example: Ask the attorney about verifiable trial experience; review peer and client testimonials; ask around the legal community for referrals, including attorneys in other practice areas; look for rankings by longstanding reputable companies such as Best Lawyers; and above all else, talk with the attorney and see if he/she is a good fit for your case. If a potential client completes this diligence, we're confident that our firm will stand out as reputable, experienced, honest and highly-regarded by our peers, by ex-clients, and by the legal communities in which we practice.

Describe one of your most interesting or memorable cases in the past year.

  • While making a legal pass on a two-lane road, a 72-year old War Veteran struck and killed an accomplished triathlete who was riding a bicycle with her two friends. He was charged criminally with Moving Violation Causing Death, sued for civil wrongful death, and faced revocation of his driver's license. The intersection of legal concepts (criminal liability, civil negligence, contributory negligence, damages) encompassed everything our firm specializes in: Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation and Wrongful Death, License Consequences. The intersection of emotions (unimaginable pain, horrific loss, legal crisis) illustrated the magnitude of human feelings involved in many of the cases our firm handles. This type of case symbolizes the type of work Geherin Law Group exclusively handles: Civil, Criminal, License. Personal Legal Crisis. To us, it's Personal.

What is most challenging about your area(s) of expertise?

  • The most challenging part of our areas of expertise--helping individuals through a personal legal crisis---is the bitter resistance we often meet from adversaries who fight our pursuit of personal justice. Whether it be an overzealous prosecutor or police officer; a biased judge; an insurance company hellbent on denying coverage; or the red-tape and bureaucracy of agencies standing in the way of personal freedoms. Having experience in dealing with this resistance is often the difference between achieving personal justice for a client, and falling short. We are uniquely equipped to help individuals with their legal crisis, and we have the resources, reputation, experience and zeal to overcome resistance. To us, it's Personal.
