Biography
DJ Ringquist has a broad base of commercial litigation and trial experience. From fighting for individuals to defending large corporations, he focuses on highly contested disputes.
Mr. Ringquist has obtained emergency injunctions right after being hired, won cases before trial, and won jury and bench trials. He handles claims involving alleged fraud and breach of contract, trade secrets, non-compete agreements, personal injury, and partnerships.
Mr. Ringquist joined AZA from a large law firm in Minneapolis. Prior to law school, he worked in the United States Senate and on political campaigns. He wrestled throughout childhood in Fergus Falls, MN, and all four years for his college’s NCAA wrestling program.

- First-chaired trial for a national auto service retailer against a claim arising from the loss of a BMW, obtaining complete defense verdict.
- Represented motorcycle manufacturer in multimillion dollar trademark dispute.
- In dispute between co-founders of medical devices company, obtained emergency injunction to stop client from being squeezed out.
- Following a physical confrontation, defended individual against civil assault claim alleging a traumatic brain injury.
- First-chaired bench trial defending against claim for attorney’s fees, resulting in substantial reduction of reasonable fee award.
- Represents buyers and sellers of goods under UCC Article 2, including force majeure and pricing claims.
- Defended renewable construction company against trade secrets claim alleging over $60 million in damages.
- On behalf of midstream oil and gas company, won summary judgment dismissal of an employee’s claims to over $6 million.
