Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs

Dan Sorey is an attorney at Sorey & Hoover, LLP, a firm that provides legal practice with personal, client-centered legal services that address the specific needs of accident victims and injured parties. He has combined his 10 years of service as a law enforcement officer with his legal training and professional experience as a plaintiff personal injury attorney to provide in- depth legal advice to a variety of clients. While the firm is based out of Longview, TX, Dan still travels across much of the southern United States, meeting with clients and helping them to achieve adequate compensation for their personal injuries. He is known for going the extra mile to meet with his clients in the comfort of their homes, even if that means traveling out of state to visit with them.
In addition to servicing as a personal injury attorney in Longview and the rest of Gregg County, Dan has worked with a nationwide plaintiff’s firm for many years. This experience taught him the art of managing a heavy caseload and gave him the opportunity to represent injured clients from across the nation, including in trials in five different states. This important practical experience has been vital to his success at his own law firm. Drawing on his experience as a police officer, Dan is skilled at analyzing accident reports, working out the fine details of personal injury cases, and presenting concise and compelling arguments in favor of his clients at trial or during mediation proceedings. These combinations of skills have allowed him to develop a proven track record of receiving significant awards and verdicts in personal injury cases. Dan is licensed to practice in four states including Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
A graduate of Northeast Louisiana University (NLU), Dan received his B.B.A. in 1988 and his M.B.A. in 1996. While at NLU, Dan played football and was a member of the 1987 I-AA National Championship team. In the 10 years before pursuing his legal career, Dan worked as a Parole Agent in Jefferson Parish Louisiana and as a city Police Officer in Monroe. He graduated with his Juris Doctor degree from Baylor Law School and was subsequently admitted to practice in the state courts of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. Additionally, Dan is admitted to numerous Federal Courts including the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Louisiana, the District of New Mexico, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Dan also currently serves as an Associate Judge for the City of Longview, and has held that position since 2015.
