Dana Tierney is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation, Employment Law, and Personal Injury practice groups, providing trial and appellate advocacy, mediation, and arbitration services since joining the firm in 1986. With over 35 years of counsel experience, he represents individuals, businesses, chartered banks, institutional lenders, and various licensed professionals, including lawyers, engineers, architects, and real estate appraisers.
Dana’s commercial litigation practice spans complex corporate-commercial disputes, construction liens, shareholder and partnership remedies, insolvency, employment law, and professional liability. Over the past decade, he has expanded his practice to include personal injury litigation, advocating for plaintiffs in high-stakes cases involving catastrophic brain and spinal cord injuries, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, sexual assault, and occupiers' liability. He has secured multi-million dollar recoveries in general, pecuniary, and accident benefit claims.
An active member of the legal profession, Dana belongs to the Ottawa Construction Association and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (Medical Malpractice Specialty Group).
Dana serves as a leader in the community, having served on the Charity Golf Tournament Committee for the St. Patrick’s Home Foundation, the Board of Directors for Ride for Dad, and as a founding committee member for the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley annual charity dinner, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local organizations.
