Biography

Dana attended the University of Toronto, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) before attending the University of Saskatchewan, receiving her Bachelor of Laws degree in 1992.

Dana was called to the British Columbia bar in 1993 and practiced in Vancouver with the well-respected law firm, Hammerberg Lawyers LLP, after spending the early part of her career as in-house counsel.

Dana successfully completed transfer examinations and was called to the Alberta bar in 2001, moving to Calgary in 2005. Dana continues to be an active member of the Alberta and British Columbia bar, litigating cases in both provinces.

Throughout her career, Dana has practiced primarily personal injury litigation, representing individuals. She has appeared at all levels of court, including the Alberta Court of King's Bench, Alberta Court of Appeal, British Columbia Supreme Court and British Columbia Court of Appeal.

Dana authored a paper on jurisdictional issues between Alberta and British Columbia, presenting as Co-Chair of the Insurance and Personal Injury Panel for the Alberta Law Conference.

Dana is an active member of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and strives to ensure through her practice and professional networks that the rights of individuals are protected and respected.

Dana enjoyed volunteering with Level's former Indigenous Youth Outreach Program (Leadership).

Dana is a former competitive golfer and grew up in an athletic family. She enjoys yoga, golf, fitness and cheering for her favourite hockey team in her spare time.
