Q&A
My practice focuses exclusively on representing injury victims and families who have suffered life-changing harm. What makes our work unique is the combination of deep trial experience and a client-centered approach. At Kubota & Craig, we prepare every case as if it will go to trial, which strengthens our negotiation position and often leads to better outcomes for our clients. At the same time, we never lose sight of the human impact of each case. Clients come to us during the most difficult moments of their lives, and we take pride in offering not just legal skill, but compassion, guidance, and stability throughout the process.
The 3 questions clients most often ask are:
1. “How long will my case take?”
I tell them that every case is different. Some resolve quickly, while others require extensive medical documentation or litigation to achieve a fair result. The timeline depends on the severity of the injuries, the length of treatment, and whether liability is disputed.
2. “Do I have a strong case?”
I explain that strength depends on both liability and damages. My team conducts a thorough investigation early on to gather evidence, speak with witnesses, and evaluate medical findings so clients can make informed decisions.
3. “Should I speak to the insurance company?”
I counsel clients to avoid recorded statements until they have legal representation. Insurance companies are trained to minimize claims, and early statements can be taken out of context.
One of the most meaningful cases involved representing a family who lost a loved one due to a dangerous roadway condition. The case required extensive investigation, including working with accident reconstruction experts and roadway safety engineers. What made it memorable was not only the complexity of the legal issues, but the strength and resilience of the family. Helping them achieve a measure of justice—and financial security for the future—was a profound reminder of why I chose this area of law.
The most challenging aspect of personal injury litigation is the emotional weight clients carry. They come to us while coping with trauma, financial instability, and uncertainty about the future. Balancing the legal complexities—such as navigating disputed liability, coordinating expert testimony, and dealing with aggressive insurance companies—while also supporting clients through the human side of their experience requires sensitivity, patience, and clear communication. I view this challenge as a responsibility and a privilege.
I was drawn to personal injury law because it allows me to stand up for people who often feel powerless after an accident or loss. Early in my career, I met clients whose lives had been permanently changed by someone else’s negligence. Their courage and need for a strong advocate inspired me to dedicate my work to helping individuals—not corporations or insurance companies—obtain justice, closure, and dignity.
Outside of practicing law, I enjoy contributing to the legal community through writing, speaking, and mentoring. I am passionate about supporting local organizations that promote safety, justice, and community well-being. I also enjoy spending time with family, exploring Southern California, and staying active in causes that support children, survivors, and underserved communities.
I believe every client deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and honesty. My goal is to not only achieve a strong legal result, but to help clients feel supported from the moment they walk through our door. I am proud to serve the Irvine and Orange County communities and to be part of a firm committed to integrity, professionalism, and meaningful advocacy.
