Curtis W. Martin represents contractors and owners involved in large and complex construction projects throughout Houston, Texas, and beyond. His practice focuses on Construction Law and Litigation – Construction, advising clients at every stage of the construction process, including the preparation and negotiation of contract documents, risk management, and the business and legal issues that arise during active projects. He also assists clients with dispute resolution and regularly serves as a mediator and arbitrator.
Curt has devoted his professional career to the construction industry since 1979, working as both a construction lawyer and an industry executive. He previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of an ENR-400 construction company, providing him with practical insight into the operational and financial challenges faced by construction professionals. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
In addition to his legal practice at Peckar & Abramson PC, Curt is a frequent educator on construction law and construction contract management. He has taught programs in 22 U.S. states as well as in Canada, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Malaysia, and Cyprus. His academic experience also includes teaching construction law at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at universities such as Colorado State University and Georgia Tech.
Outside of his law practice, Curt is an active cyclist and community volunteer. He is a Hall of Fame fundraiser for the Texas BP MS 150 bike ride from Houston to College Station and serves on the Lone Star MS Society’s Fundraising Committee.
