Biography

Courtney Achee is a partner in Bradley’s Cybersecurity and Privacy and Banking and Financial Services practice groups. Courtney assists clients across all industries with a wide variety of privacy compliance needs, providing strategic advice on compliance obligations under federal statutes and regulations, state privacy and data security laws, and global data protection laws, as well as industry standards, including GLBA, FCRA, FACTA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, UDAP/UDAAP, COPPA, CCPA, GDPR, E-SIGN, and NAIC Model Laws and Regulations.

Courtney has developed a practice that focuses on nuanced issues that arise under consumer-facing privacy laws in the financial, insurance, and digital marketing space. Her experience includes developing consumer-facing privacy policies, privacy notices under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and policies and procedures; advising clients on the affiliate marketing rule under the Fair Credit Reporting Act; reviewing legislative proposals for privacy laws and providing feedback to clients regarding business consequences; analyzing the use of marketing and advertising tools for software application developers; conducting gap analysis to determine compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); and assisting clients with CCPA compliance programs. She regularly assists clients with implementing direct marketing compliance programs involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and its implementing regulations, as well as the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM).

Her practice also encompasses data incident and breach response advice and coaching, including for federally regulated banking institutions under the Interagency Guidelines and the OCC’s Computer-Security Incident Notification Rule.
