Biography

Cory P. Whalen is a partner and shareholder at SiebenCarey who represents individuals and families in personal injury and wrongful death litigation throughout Minnesota. His practice encompasses serious motor vehicle and trucking accidents, product liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, construction and industrial accidents, and other complex injury claims.

A Certified Civil Trial Law Specialist through the Minnesota State Bar Association, Cory has extensive experience pursuing significant verdicts and settlements on behalf of injured clients. His results have included multimillion-dollar recoveries in cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. He is also a life member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), reflecting his substantial experience as a trial attorney.

Cory has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America® since 2013 and is currently recognized in both Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs and Product Liability Litigation - Plaintiffs. He has also been selected as a Minnesota Super Lawyers honoree every year since 2014 and was named to Minnesota Lawyer's Power 30 for Personal Injury Law in 2024 and Power List for Personal Injury Law in 2025.

In addition to representing injured clients, Cory is actively involved in Minnesota's legal community. He frequently lectures and writes for continuing legal education programs and has taught Litigation and Trial Practice at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Cory is also qualified by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a Neutral and provides alternative dispute resolution services to other attorneys and members of the legal community.
