Constantinos Ragas is a senior partner at Fasken and a national co-lead of the firm’s Emerging Technology Group, a premier legal practice serving Canada’s innovation economy. Based in Montréal, he is widely recognized as one of the top venture capital and technology M&A lawyers in the country, with a practice that blends legal precision, strategic thinking, and deep market insight. For nearly two decades, Constantinos has played a leading role in shaping Québec’s emerging technology sector. Since joining Fasken in 2008, he has worked alongside founders, investors, accelerators, and acquirers to help build the province’s innovation ecosystem from the ground up. His clients include fast-growing startups, Canadian and international venture funds, and private equity–backed platforms operating in sectors such as AI, software, fintech, digital health, and e-commerce. He regularly advises on early- and later-stage financings, founder liquidity events, and cross-border M&A, with a particular focus on transactions involving U.S.-based investors and strategic buyers. Known for his calm, business-oriented approach, Constantinos is a trusted advisor to growth-stage companies and the investors who support them. In addition to his work in emerging technology, Constantinos maintains a strong practice in traditional, non-tech M&A and corporate finance, representing clients in industries such as manufacturing, retail, industrial services, and franchising. He advises Canadian and international buyers and sellers on private M&A transactions, management buy-outs, and succession planning mandates, and frequently works with private equity sponsors and closely held businesses navigating complex transitions. As one of Fasken’s national leaders in innovation and growth, Constantinos brings together deep sector knowledge, practical deal experience, and a collaborative mindset to help clients execute transactions with confidence. Bilingual in French and English, he serves as a key connector between Québec’s business community and the broader Canadian and international marketplace.
