Colin Darke is Founder, President & CEO of CompliSun, Inc. and Managing Attorney of CompliSun Legal PLC, where he leads a fractional compliance and legal practice serving fintechs, banks, and registered investment advisors. A Best Lawyers® 2026 honoree in Corporate Law and 2027 honoree in Corporate Law and Banking & Finance Law, Colin brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of banking law, compliance, and financial technology.
Colin previously co-founded Rocket Loans, serving as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and building the company's compliance function from the ground up. He guided the company's response to state and federal regulatory scrutiny, helped secure a federal contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and was part of the leadership team that took parent company Rocket Companies public in its 2020 IPO — overseeing matters ranging from over $1 billion in forward flow loan sale transactions to the company's core consumer disclosures, terms of service, and privacy policy.
Colin holds a J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law and an LL.M. in Banking and Finance Law, with academic distinction, from Boston University School of Law, as well as a B.F.A. from Western Michigan University. He is a co-founder of the Online Lending Policy Institute, which merged into what is now the American Fintech Council. Colin practices law in Detroit, Michigan.
