Biography

Christy Jack is a nationally recognized criminal defense attorney with more than three decades of experience and over 200 jury trials to her credit. Her practice encompasses some of the most serious and complex criminal matters, including capital murder, murder, and sexual assault cases. Her courtroom experience and legal insight have also made her a sought-after commentator on criminal justice, with appearances on programs including 48 Hours, Dateline, Investigation Discovery, Cold Case, Forensic Files, and Court TV. She has received numerous professional honors, including recognition as a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine and 360 West, as well as being named a Best Lawyer by D Magazine.

Before entering private practice, Christy spent more than 20 years with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, advancing through the misdemeanor and felony trial divisions and the Crimes Against Children Unit before serving as a chief prosecutor for 15 years and later as a deputy chief. She was one of the office’s two designated litigation experts and developed extensive experience prosecuting violent and complex criminal offenses. Her depth of experience on both sides of the courtroom gives her a unique perspective when defending clients facing serious charges.

Christy’s contributions to the criminal justice system extend beyond her legal practice. In 2011, she was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Governing Board of the Texas Civil Commitment Office, which oversees the state’s most violent sex offenders, and was selected to serve as chair in 2014. Governor Greg Abbott subsequently reappointed her, and she continues to serve in that role. Christy is also a former Chair of the Criminal Justice Section of the State Bar of Texas and a former director of the Tarrant County Bar Association. She regularly teaches and speaks on criminal justice issues and remains deeply involved in advancing the legal profession.
