Biography

Christopher M. Clough is a Managing Partner at Barron Adler Clough & Oddo PLLC in Austin, Texas, where he focuses his practice on eminent domain and condemnation law, land use disputes, and complex property rights matters throughout Texas. Since joining the firm in 2008, Mr. Clough has represented property owners, businesses, developers, and institutional clients in high-stakes condemnation proceedings involving transportation projects, public infrastructure, and commercial development.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Clough spent four years with the Transportation Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office, where he represented the State of Texas primarily in eminent domain litigation. His background on both sides of condemnation matters provides valuable insight into the legal and procedural issues that arise in Texas eminent domain and condemnation cases.

Mr. Clough has handled significant eminent domain and land use matters across the state, including AM Peeler Ranch, LLC v. San Miguel Electric Cooperative, Inc., and City of Austin v. Lonestar Airport Holdings, LLC, involving the South Terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. He regularly serves as condemnation counsel in Texas for institutional clients and publicly traded companies, including McDonald’s, H.E.B., Weingarten Realty, Simon Property Group, and Life Storage.

Throughout his career, Mr. Clough has represented clients in jury trials, special commissioners’ hearings, negotiations, and appeals involving condemnation and property rights disputes. He has tried numerous eminent domain cases to verdict, handled hundreds of special commissioners’ hearings, and contributed to multiple published appellate court decisions.

Mr. Clough earned his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 1999 and received his Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law in 2003. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
