Chris L. Ayers is a partner at Sbaiti & Company in Newark, New Jersey. He serves as co-chair of the firm’s Mass Tort Practice Group and chair of its Consumer Protection Practice Group. Chris represents individuals and public entities in state and federal courts across the United States in complex litigation involving corporate misconduct, defective products, and other forms of consumer and public harm.
His practice includes Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions - Plaintiffs, consumer protection, complex commercial litigation, defective medical devices, dangerous pharmaceutical drugs, environmental contamination and exposure, qui tam and whistleblower claims, investment fraud, and antitrust matters. He has served on leadership teams in multidistrict litigation, class actions, and social justice litigation.
Chris also advises plaintiffs on eDiscovery and the preservation of electronically stored information (ESI). He has served as designated ESI counsel in multiple complex matters, helping clients address discovery issues involving electronically stored information, document preservation, and litigation strategy.
Throughout his career, Chris has been recognized for his preparation, strategic approach, and courtroom advocacy in complex cases. His professional distinctions include selection for Forbes’ 2025 list of America’s lawyers, inclusion in Lawdragon’s 2025 500-lawyer list, and receipt of the Association of American Law Schools, Section on Litigation’s 2025 Outstanding Practitioner Award.
Before joining Sbaiti & Company, Chris was a partner at a national plaintiffs’ law firm, where he litigated complex matters in a range of practice areas. He was also a four-year varsity athlete on Brown University’s wrestling team.
