Trusts and Succession Planning
Dr Christoph Philipp is a partner at POELLATH in Munich. Together with Stephan Viskorf, Christoph is head of the Munich Private Clients team.
The team specialises in providing holistic advice to high-net-worth individuals, especially family entrepreneurs and their mostly complex international asset structures. “Our clients can expect advice that comprehensively considers not only all legal aspects but - as our experience shows - also all personal aspects that family life itself, and the life of an entrepreneurial family in particular, entails.”
The Private Clients team therefore brings together specialists from the fields of corporate law, inheritance and family law and, above all, tax law in order to quickly and efficiently grasp all the individual needs of the firm's clients and to be able to provide them with highly qualified advice.
Christoph specialises in advice of family-owned businesses including national and international business succession planning and structuring (corporate governance) and asset structuring, inheritance law and inheritance tax law, domestic and international prenuptial agreements, marriage contracts as well as divorce settlements; foundations and wealthy individuals. This also includes the drafting of wills, execution of wills, foundations and estate planning and pro-bono-activities.
He serves as executor and is a member of the AGT Arbeitsgemeinschaft Testamentsvollstreckung und Vermögenssorge e.V. (Association for Executorship and Asset Supervision).
He is the author of numerous publications, and lectures frequently on inheritance tax law. Since 2007 he has been lecturing at the University of Muenster's Master's Course in Private Wealth Management.
Subsequent to a bank apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank, he studied law at the Universities of Berlin and Muenster and wrote his doctorate thesis on inheritance tax law.
