Christine M. Sorge is the Managing Shareholder of Selzer Gurvitch in Bethesda, Maryland, where she leads the firm’s Estate Planning and Trust & Estate Administration practice group. For more than 35 years, she has advised individuals, families, business owners and closely held companies on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and Corporate Law matters. Clients value her practical guidance, attention to detail and ability to explain complex legal and tax issues in a clear and approachable manner.
Christine’s estate planning practice focuses on developing customized strategies designed to help clients preserve wealth, plan for future generations and address personal and business objectives. She prepares wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney and advance healthcare directives, and advises clients on estate and gift tax planning, charitable giving strategies and business succession considerations. She also counsels fiduciaries and beneficiaries throughout the trust and estate administration process.
In her Corporate Law practice, Christine works with business owners on matters involving business formation, governance, succession planning and the integration of business interests into broader estate planning goals. Her experience representing both individuals and businesses allows her to provide coordinated counsel tailored to each client’s long-term objectives.
Christine is known for building long-standing relationships with clients and their families across multiple generations. She approaches each matter with thoughtful communication, careful planning and sensitivity to the personal and financial considerations involved in estate and business planning decisions.
She earned her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law and began her legal career practicing at established law firms in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including the largest firm in Montgomery County, Maryland. Christine has lectured for the D.C. Bar Association, continuing legal education programs and community organizations on topics related to estate planning, estate administration, charitable giving and estate and gift taxation. She was also recognized with The Daily Record’s 2026 Managing Partner Award.
Christine is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia and is a member of the D.C. Estate Planning Council. She remains active in the community through volunteer work with Heroes, Inc., which supports families of fallen first responders, and previously served as a volunteer Ranger for the C&O Canal National Historical Park.
