Biography
Christian Schede is the Founding Chairman Germany and co-chairs the Global Real Estate Practice at Greenberg Traurig. His practice centers on the real estate and infrastructure sectors, acting for international and domestic institutional investors, private equity funds, financiers, project developers, and investment managers. He regularly advises public sector institutions and enterprises.
Christian’s advisory focus covers the structuring and implementation of real estate and infrastructure investments. He has deep experience in cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, financings and restructurings. His experience includes portfolio transactions, the set-up of investment management platforms as well as major urban development projects. He is recognized by publications and directories as an expert in public-private partnerships and rent regulation.
As a leading lawyer in his field, Christian is ranked Tier 1 (Chambers, 2026), listed in the “Hall of Fame” (The Legal 500, 2026) and regularly awarded “Lawyer of the Year” for Real Estate by Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers (most recently: 2025). Prior to Greenberg Traurig’s opening in Germany in 2015, he used to be Managing Partner at Olswang and was previously partner in the Real Estate Group at Freshfields in Berlin.
