Christian Ferron has been with Goldwater Droit since 2005 and serves as Of Counsel to the firm in Westmount, Quebec. His work focuses on legal research, written advocacy, and strategic analysis supporting the firm’s litigation and advisory matters, including Family Law, civil litigation, and estate-related disputes.
Christian works closely with the firm’s lawyers to address complex legal questions and develop detailed legal arguments grounded in legislation, doctrine, and case law. His research memoranda support courtroom advocacy by identifying key legal issues, evaluating opposing arguments, and helping shape practical litigation strategies for clients and counsel alike.
In Family Law matters, Christian contributes research and analysis relating to spousal support, family obligations, and related legal issues under Quebec law. He co-authored a chapter on spousal support in Jurisclasseur Québec: Personnes et Famille (LexisNexis), a widely consulted legal reference used by lawyers and judges throughout Quebec.
Christian earned his LL.M. with Honours from McGill University in 2008 after already beginning his legal career, reflecting his longstanding commitment to legal scholarship and continuing study. His academic background informs the analytical approach he brings to each matter handled by the firm.
Earlier in his career, from 2001 to 2004, Christian clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal for the Honourable Justices Louise Otis, Marc Beauregard, and Louise Lemelin (ad hoc). That experience strengthened his skills in appellate analysis, constitutional questions, and judicial research, all of which continue to support his work at Goldwater Droit today.
