Cherie Dessauer Nobles focuses her practice on bankruptcy and debtor-creditor rights, representing a broad range of clients—from large, complex companies to smaller businesses—in chapter 11 and chapter 7 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.
She has experience advising debtors, trustees, unsecured creditors’ committees, and individual creditors in complex commercial bankruptcies and related workout matters.
As part of the firm’s bankruptcy team, Cherie has had significant experience successfully representing creditors’ committees in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, including Energy XXI, Louisiana Heart Hospital, Acadiana Management Group, Petroquest Energy and Seahawk Drilling, and debtors, like Knight Energy Holdings and Harvest Oil & Gas, in major bankruptcy cases. The team has been a key participant in bankruptcy cases and workouts across the country.
She frequently speaks on topics in bankruptcy law, most recently serving as a panelist at the 28th and 27th Louisiana State University Annual Bankruptcy Law Conferences.
