Charles “Chuck” Loopstra is a founding partner of Loopstra Nixon and has practised law in Toronto, Ontario since 1969. He was appointed King’s Counsel in 1985 and continues to advise clients on a broad range of complex legal and business matters.
Chuck’s practice includes Corporate and Commercial Litigation and Municipal Law. He acts for private and public sector clients, including municipalities, government bodies, corporations, and organizations dealing with regulatory, governance, and litigation matters.
Throughout his career, Chuck has represented clients in significant public law and commercial disputes and has been involved in matters affecting local government and business operations across Ontario. In addition to his legal practice, he contributes to the strategic direction of the firm and regularly shares insights through legal publications and conference presentations.
Chuck has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for Corporate and Commercial Litigation and Municipal Law based on peer-reviewed feedback from members of the legal profession.
Outside of his legal work, Chuck is active in charitable and community initiatives. He also operates a working beef farm and enjoys golfing.
