Biography
I am a founding partner of JJC Law LLC, where I focus on maritime, products liability, environmental, and personal injury litigation. I was born in Patterson, Louisiana, in St. Mary Parish, and grew up along the Bayou Teche. My journey eventually led me to New Orleans, where I attended Tulane University and Tulane Law School.
My background in physics, mathematics, and computer science, combined with my lifelong experience around the offshore and inland oil and gas industries, gives me a unique understanding of the technical and scientific issues that frequently arise in maritime and environmental cases. As a litigator, I have had the opportunity to brief and argue significant legal issues related to maritime injury, insurance coverage, products liability, and personal injury.
Outside of my practice, I lead our firm's sponsored basketball team, affectionately known as "The Firm," which competes in some of the most competitive leagues in the Greater New Orleans area. I am also an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at Tulane Law School and enjoy lecturing on various legal topics. Additionally, I am actively involved in several bar associations, public interest groups, and community service organizations, offering pro bono and charitable services to underserved and marginalized communities.

Q&A
When we talk about litigation, we mean that we are the attorneys actively handling your case from start to finish. Not every case needs to go through the full litigation process — some can be negotiated and resolved before a lawsuit is ever filed, in what is known as the "pre-lit" stage. However, our firm specializes in managing cases that require drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, briefing and arguing motions, and ultimately representing clients in mediation, arbitration, or trial.
Many of our clients are referred to us by other attorneys, and we genuinely appreciate those partnerships. That said, we’re also more than willing to represent you or your business from the outset. Our reputation for genuine litigation experience can often help you reach a favorable resolution before formal legal action becomes necessary. While we are fully prepared to fight aggressively when needed, we also understand that avoiding unnecessary conflict is sometimes the best approach for our clients.
Our practice primarily focuses on representing plaintiffs — individuals or businesses seeking to recover losses or address harm done to them. We handle a variety of business-related issues, including healthcare disputes, government contract matters, construction disagreements, property damage claims, insurance coverage disputes, indemnity/defense tenders, and contract breaches. We also represent individuals injured in maritime incidents, motor vehicle accidents, product defects, and premises liability situations. Additionally, we assist individuals in pursuing first-party insurance claims, such as those related to homeowner’s insurance for hurricane damage or other property losses.
