Carrie Roane

Carrie E. Mendrick Roane is a Tallahassee, Florida attorney recognized by Best Lawyers in the practice area of Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs. She has been recognized since 2026 based on a peer-review survey of attorneys practicing in the same geographic and legal practice areas.

Carrie was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida, with three older brothers near the Caloosahatchee River and Gulf of Mexico. She was the first person in her family to graduate from college. Carrie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with honors from Florida State University in 1996, where she was a member of the FSU Flying High Circus. She received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1999.

While attending the University of Miami School of Law, Carrie served on the University of Miami Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honor awarded to students who graduate in the upper 10 percent of their law school class. She also gained experience as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge David Gersten of Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal.

In 1998, Carrie moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a summer associate in the litigation section of a large law firm and completed her third year of law school at Georgetown University Law Center. After graduating from law school, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Administrative Law Judge Richard Stansell-Gamm with the United States Department of Labor.

Carrie spent the first 15 years of her legal career in Tallahassee as a defense litigator. Her work focused primarily on defending professionals in malpractice actions. Before joining Fasig Brooks Law Offices in July 2016, Carrie was a shareholder in a defense litigation firm and served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. She was also named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2014.

At Fasig Brooks Law Offices, Carrie represents plaintiffs in personal injury litigation. Her background in defense litigation provides perspective that she uses when advocating for clients and pursuing claims involving serious injuries and other losses. Carrie is committed to helping clients understand their legal options and navigating the litigation process.

Outside of her legal practice, Carrie enjoys playing co-ed soccer with the Tallahassee Soccer Association and Warner Soccer, traveling, and spending time on the boat with her family. She is involved in community service as the Director of Southwood Gives Back and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tallahassee-Leon County Shelter. Carrie and her husband, Jaken, who is also a litigation attorney, have two sons.
