Carol represents businesses, creditors, debtors, trustees, and other parties in interest in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters, as well as related commercial litigation. She has more than 20 years of legal experience handling matters from pre-litigation strategy through trial and resolution. Carol works closely with clients to develop practical and cost-conscious legal solutions tailored to their objectives.
In addition to her bankruptcy and insolvency practice, Carol advises clients on complex business disputes and restructuring matters throughout the Chicagoland area. Carol has been recognized by Law Bulletin Media as a Leading Lawyer from 2021 to the present and as an Emerging Lawyer from 2018 through 2020 in the areas of Bankruptcy/Workouts and Business Litigation. She also co-authored several Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) chapters, including materials addressing the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019, Representing Clients in Bankruptcy Cases, Chapter 11 Cases for Individuals and Small Business Debtors, Mechanics Liens in Bankruptcy, and Filing a Chapter 7 Petition and Exemptions.
She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she served as a lead articles editor for the John Marshall Law Review and received the Distinguished Scholar Award. During law school, Carol completed externships with judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County handling foreclosure matters. She also earned an LL.M. in real estate law, with honors.
