Carolina (“Carol”) Sales is a bankruptcy and commercial litigation attorney with Robbins DiMonte in Park Ridge, Illinois. She concentrates her practice on bankruptcy, creditor debtor rights, insolvency and reorganization law, and litigation involving financial disputes and business matters. Carol represents individuals, businesses, debtors, creditors, trustees, and other parties in interest in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings, as well as related litigation matters in state and federal courts.
With more than 20 years of legal experience, Carol advises clients through all stages of litigation and insolvency-related proceedings. She works closely with clients to develop practical and cost-conscious strategies tailored to their objectives. Her practice includes bankruptcy litigation, commercial disputes, business reorganizations, creditor rights matters, and insolvency proceedings involving both consumer and commercial issues.
Carol has been recognized by Law Bulletin Media as a Leading Lawyer since 2021 and was previously named an Emerging Lawyer from 2018 through 2020 in the areas of Bankruptcy/Workouts and Business Litigation throughout the Chicagoland area. She has also contributed to legal education initiatives by co-authoring several Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) chapters, including materials addressing the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019, representing clients in bankruptcy cases, Chapter 11 cases for individuals and small business debtors, mechanics liens in bankruptcy, and filing Chapter 7 petitions and exemptions.
Carol earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she served as Lead Articles Editor for the John Marshall Law Review and received the Distinguished Scholar Award. During law school, she externed with judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County handling foreclosure matters. She also earned an LL.M. in Real Estate Law, with honors.
