Carmel’s practice is informed by a combination of her experience as a federal district court clerk and her background with complex commercial litigation matters. Carmel has worked on a wide variety of cases involving health care regulation, product liability, anti-money laundering and consumer fraud, breach of contract and trade secret claims. She has previously represented banks in matters of overdraft fee litigation and merger acquisitions, as well as several intellectual property matters related to trademark enforcement and false advertisement.
Carmel has defended clients in state and federal courts during class action lawsuits, multidistrict litigations and appellate briefings. Additionally, she has represented clients undergoing internal investigations, as well as government investigations by the DOJ, SEC and FTC. Carmel has worked on a number of incarceration and immigration pro bono matters, assisting individuals applying for asylum, humanitarian parole and Eighth Amendment rights.
