Carlos Creel C.

Carlos Creel C. professional practice focuses on general corporate work, banking and securities law matters. His corporate practice includes advising public and private corporations and other entities in a variety of industries in connection with M&A, corporate governance matters, cross-border joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as private equity funds in their formation and a variety of transactional matters. He also has extensive experience in corporate finance transactions, including secured financing and syndicated lending, as well as in capital markets transactions, representing issuers and investment banks in a broad range of public and private transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings and cross-border securities offerings. Mr. Creel advised the Mexican Government on the drafting and revisions of venture capital and securities laws and regulations, including the Law on the Securities Market and the Law on Investment Companies.

Mr. Creel is member of the Board and Executive Committees of Fundación Empresarios por la Educación Básica (ExEb) and Alianza Médica para la Salud (AMSA).

Mr. Creel acquired his Law Degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho in 1984 and was a Foreign Associate for Shearman & Sterling in New York from 1984-1985. He has been a Professor of Corporations Law and Foreign Investment Law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and at the Law Faculty of the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and currently teaches the Corporate Governance course in the LLM Program of the Universidad Panamericana.

Mr. Creel has published articles and essays on a wide variety of fields of Mexican law, including foreign investment, joint ventures, corporate governance and private equity. Among the recent articles written by Mr. Creel, the following are noted:
