Carlo L. Miranda

Carlo L. Miranda is Of Counsel at Flicker Kerin, LLP in Menlo Park, California. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and represents clients in a broad range of family law matters throughout the Bay Area. His practice includes high-asset divorce, child custody and visitation disputes, move-away cases, interstate and international jurisdictional matters, child and spousal support, domestic violence restraining orders, and complex property division and business valuation issues.

Mr. Miranda has developed substantial litigation experience handling contested family law proceedings and high-conflict matters. Prior to joining Flicker Kerin LLP, he practiced at a boutique family law firm where he represented clients in custody disputes, support matters, and restraining order proceedings. Earlier in his legal career, he founded his own law practice in San Jose, representing clients in both criminal and family law cases. He also worked alongside a Certified Criminal Law Specialist in two high-volume criminal trials, including one of the longest homicide trials in Santa Clara County history. This trial background helped him build a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy, evidentiary issues, and procedural strategy that continues to inform his family law practice today.

In addition to his trial work, Mr. Miranda prepared an opening appellate brief before the California 4th District Court of Appeal. During law school, he clerked for an asbestos litigation firm where he gained experience in civil litigation and case analysis.

Mr. Miranda is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Mateo County Bar Association, and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the San Mateo County Bar Association Family Law Section and is slated to serve as Chair of the section in 2026. From 2019 through 2024, he was selected to the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list for Northern California. The recognition is based on factors that include peer recognition, professional achievement, and community involvement.

Mr. Miranda earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2010. While in law school, he received the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing for two consecutive semesters and earned the Best Brief Award in the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition. He also served as a Comments Editor for the USF Law Review, Moot Court Case Counsel, and President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA).

Mr. Miranda received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors from the University of California, Berkeley. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys cooking, mixed martial arts training, and spending time with family and friends. He also completed the Half Dome hike at Yosemite National Park.
