As a Partner at Burrison Hudani Doris LLP, Carina’s practice encompasses all aspects of family law and child protection law, including property division, support, and high-conflict parenting disputes. Carina’s experiences in both the legal and social work fields assist her in resolving her clients’ legal problems in a practical, creative and efficient manner.
Carina is an advocate who is committed to helping her clients navigate the challenges of family law. She has a particular interest in child-related issues and part of her practice includes representing children in family law and child protection law matters as a member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer’s legal panel.
Carina has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since her call to the Ontario Bar in 2016. Prior to joining Burrison Hudani Doris in early 2019, Carina articled at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and then worked at a prominent family law boutique firm in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. While attending law school at the University of Toronto, Carina enrolled in the school’s combined law and social work program. She graduated with dual Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work degrees in 2015.
During her studies, Carina was a caseworker at Downtown Legal Services and the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic. She also assisted self-represented litigants at the Toronto and Brampton family courts for three years as a law student for Pro Bono Students Canada’s Family Law Project.
Carina has been a member of the executive of the OBA Family Law section and is currently the Vice-Chair of the OBA Child and Youth Law section. She also volunteers on a regular basis with the Family Justice Centre, where she supervises law students through Pro Bono Students Canada as they assist self-represented litigants, and with the Virtual Legal Clinic at Luke’s Place, where she provides summary legal advice to survivors of domestic violence across Ontario.
Outside of her legal practice, Carina has been actively involved with various non-profit organizations assisting children, youth and families in Toronto. She served for six years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Red Door Family Shelter, and she is currently a Board Member at West Toronto Community Legal Services. In 2022, Carina was awarded the University College Young Alumni of Influence Award from her alma mater, the University of Toronto, in recognition of her advocacy work for children and youth from the child welfare system. In 2025, she was named as the Young Lawyer of the Year by the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.
