Bruce H. Lederman is the head of the litigation practice at D’Agostino, Lederman, Landesman, Rivera & Miraglia LLP in New York, New York. He represents individuals, businesses, property owners, developers and other clients in commercial, construction and real estate disputes. Mr. Lederman handles trial and appellate matters in federal and New York State courts and has more than 30 years of experience addressing complex business and property-related legal matters.
His practice focuses on construction disputes, mechanic’s liens, real estate contract enforcement, down payment disputes, title issues, brokerage commission disputes, employee restrictive covenant matters and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Lederman has written on a range of legal topics, including time-of-the-essence provisions and closing issues, condominium sponsor liability, mechanic’s liens and federal preemption. His articles have appeared in the New York State Bar Association Journal, Real Estate Weekly and the New York Law Journal. He also lectures to members of the legal community on real estate contracts, construction defect litigation, RPAPL 881, access agreements and mechanic’s liens.
Drawing on his litigation background, Mr. Lederman also advises clients on transactional matters involving commercial and residential real estate. He represents developers in the acquisition and sale of multifamily properties, including transactions involving traditional and private-placement financing. His experience includes individual property closings, portfolio refinances involving amounts of up to approximately $100 million, securitized transactions, Fannie Mae transactions and defeasance transactions. In 2007, he represented the seller of the East Harlem Portfolio, which consisted of 49 properties and had a combined sales price exceeding $200 million.
