BACKGROUND
Brooke focuses on strategically counseling his clients on intellectual property matters and portfolio development, including patent, trademark, and copyright law. He routinely works on patent procurement, due diligence investigations, enforcement, and licensing, as well as other transactional intellectual property matters.
Brooke received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Southern California in 1992. He received his J.D. from University of Texas at Austin in 1997.
EXPERIENCE
Brooke is driven to stay on the leading edge of new technologies and carries high-level patent experience in computer software and software-enabled devices, as well as completing executive education from Berkeley Law in “Generative AI for the Legal Profession.” He frequently works on complex issues for clients involving machine learning, artificial intelligence systems, augmented and virtual reality, e-commerce, cyber-security, and block chain; electro-mechanical systems including electric vehicle charging systems, electrical load balancing, grid management, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and drone technology; 5G and other telecommunications technology, including smartphone technology and satellite systems; medical devices; medical diagnostic technologies; medical product manufacturing; material processing and structures, optical systems; film processing and post-processing technology; gaming technology, aerospace technology, and agricultural technology.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Brooke was a senior engineer at Northrop Corporation’s Aircraft Division in Hawthorne, California. While there, Brooke specialized as a research and design engineer, concentrating on structural concepts and designs utilizing advanced structures and materials, as well as developing techniques for their commercial and military applications. He also assisted in programming variation simulation analysis for computer-assisted aircraft production.
AFFILIATIONS
Brooke served as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Washington State Bar Association IP Section. He is admitted to Washington and California’s state bars and is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Brooke is a member of the Washington State Patent Law Association (WSPLA) and the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA). He is also a member of the Seattle Executives Association and C3 Business Leaders.
