Biography
Brian Lindsey has practiced law in Lafayette, Louisiana since 2014 and is an attorney with Kean Miller, where he is part of the offshore energy and maritime practice group. His practice is focused on civil defense litigation for companies in the energy, transportation, maritime, and industrial sectors. Brian regularly represents defendants in complex matters arising from multi-party accidents, contractual defense and indemnity obligations, and insurance coverage disputes. His work includes matters involving Energy Law, Transportation Law, and Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants.
Brian has extensive experience handling a broad range of admiralty and maritime issues, including Jones Act claims, personal injury defense, property damage, vessel collisions and allisions, and contract disputes. He frequently represents clients in cases involving offshore operations and onshore industrial incidents, providing strategic guidance throughout all phases of litigation.
While in law school, Brian served as an extern for the Honorable Sarah S. Vance, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Before entering private practice, he worked as an insurance adjuster for a large institutional insurer, where he managed national accounts and catastrophic loss claims. He also worked for a third-party administrator handling claims asserted against a large self-insured OCIP construction project on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This background allows Brian to approach litigation with a practical understanding of claim investigation, evaluation, and defense from initial notice through resolution.
Brian was appointed as a Fifteenth Judicial District Delegate to the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates. He continues to represent clients throughout Lafayette and across Louisiana in matters involving energy operations, transportation-related claims, and defense of personal injury litigation.
