Brett J. Moritz is a Partner in the Miami, Florida office of Peckar & Abramson PC. He is board certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law and concentrates his practice on construction-related transactional matters and litigation. Brett represents developers, contractors, and other construction industry participants in a wide range of commercial and construction disputes.
Throughout all phases of construction projects, Brett advises clients on drafting and negotiating construction contracts, project administration, and risk management strategies intended to reduce the likelihood of disputes. When disputes arise, he represents clients in the litigation of construction claims involving complex contractual, scheduling, and financial issues.
Brett earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami in 2012. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Brett served on the University of Miami Law Review and received the CALI Award for Excellence in Business Associations, along with the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Awards in Torts, Contracts, and Property. He also participated in the Litigation Skills Program, earning honors in both pre-trial and trial advocacy.
