Brendan began his career as a litigator and trial lawyer before focusing his practice on insolvency, restructuring and commercial litigation. Brendan’s expertise as a trial lawyer is especially sought after by clients looking to resolve and restructure complex claims.

Brendan has acted for borrowers, creditors, purchasers, court officers, and government stakeholders such as municipalities and the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. His scope of practice offers the breadth of knowledge to unwind intricate stakeholder dynamics, understand client desires and goals, and to drive quickly to efficient and effective resolution. Brendan has specialized experience working with distressed companies and stakeholders in construction and real estate development, both in the public and private realm. His clients include contractors, developers, municipalities, public agencies, project sureties, and construction consortiums, and he regularly acts in respect of P3 and DBFM projects.

Brendan is a current member of the Commercial List Users Committee, a past member of the Canadian Bar Association Insolvency Section, as well as, a past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Insolvency Section. Brendan is a frequent contributor to the Canadian insolvency and restructuring bar and a regular presenter at industry conferences.
