Bobby B. Soltani

BACKGROUND

Bobby focuses his practice on helping clients with U.S. and foreign patent prosecution filings and the development of robust patent portfolios. With a deep background in electrical engineering, Bobby specializes in translating complex prosecution matters into understandable legal strategies that align with his clients’ business interests. He also excels at patent infringement and invalidity opinions, licensing, and strategic portfolio management. Bobby represents a diverse range of clients, from innovative startups to multinational corporations, ensuring their intellectual property assets are effectively secured and managed.

Bobby hails from the great state of Oklahoma, and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma (2001), followed by an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University (2003). He then returned to OU for his J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law (2007).

EXPERIENCE

Prior to practicing law, Bobby was an electrical engineer with the Federal Aviation Administration and Seagate Technology, where he gained valuable insights into both government operations and private sector technology development. This experience has been invaluable in dealing with the US Patent and Trademark Office as he prepares and prosecutes patent applications for his clients. Bobby is well-versed in a variety of technologies, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, software, robotics, semiconductor manufacturing, optics, and electronic devices.

AFFILIATIONS

Bobby is admitted to practice in Washington (2010) and Colorado (2007),and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has served as a board member and president of Washington State Patent Law Association (WSPLA), and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Additionally, Bobby lectures on U.S. patent practice at the University of Washington School of Law.
