Ms. Garofalo has substantial experience representing employers in court and before administrative agencies and regularly counsels employers on a wide range of employment issues, including sexual harassment; discrimination; accommodating disabled employees; family and medical leave laws; wage and hour laws; hiring, disciplining and terminating employees; downsizing and reductions-in-force; independent contractor, employment, non-competition and confidentiality agreements; mergers and acquisitions; and outsourcing.
Ms. Garofalo speaks and writes extensively on current labor and employment law issues. She also conducts extensive management training on all topics including harassment prevention, workplace privacy, effective management, and equal employment opportunity law.
For the years 2007 through 2012, Ms. Garofalo has been recognized by Chambers USA Guide as a “Leader in Her Field” (Band 1, Labor and Employment Attorneys in Connecticut) and was named to the list of finalists for Employment Attorney of the Year for 2012 by Chambers USA Women in the Law. Ms. Garofalo was selected for inclusion in the 2013 “Best Lawyers in America” reference guide. She was also recognized in 2012 Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers, and named to the lists of ‘Top 50 Connecticut Super Lawyers 2012,’ ‘Top 25 Women Connecticut Super Lawyers 2012,’ and ‘Top 50 Women New England Super Lawyers 2012.’
