Since 2005, when she became a founding partner of Offer & Mastmann, Bettina has advised German and multinational employers regarding their transfer of personnel to Germany. With her team, she focusses on large scale transfer schemes that rely on a smooth and efficient execution of all the legal steps required to obtain the necessary permit. Her clients of the automotive, IT and chemical industry as well as many relocation experts rely on her legal expertise as well as her thorough understanding of client demands and process structures related to large transfer schemes and her solution oriented style.
Bettina regularly lectures on current corporate immigration issues before HR specialists, at chambers of commerce, national and international conferences such as the IBA’s Biennial Global Immigration Conferences and appears at expert panels of the German Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) and BertelsmannStiftung. She also communicates regularly with German law makers on draft new legislations in immigration law, such as the German implementation of the ICT directive or the „Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz“ (law on skilled migration) For the latter, the parliamentary committee on the interior invited her to speak as expert at the public hearing.
She publishes in German or English on German corporate immigration law and is the co-editor of the Practitioners Guide on Corporate Immigration Law, an overview on the business immigration laws of 29 countries (Oxford University Press, 2012). She has initiated and co-edited the first commentary on German corporate immigration law published by the legal publisher C.H. Beck in 2016 and co-authored with Gabriele Mastmann the chapter on Business immigration law to the Handbuch Migrations- und Integrationsrecht in 2018. She is listed as a leading professional by Who’s Who Legal continuously since 2009, a WWL Thought Leader in 2019, and recognized by Best Lawyers® in 2020.
