Benjamin "Ben" Dexter
Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, P.A.
Recognized since 2021
Portland, Maine
Practice Areas
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Commercial Litigation
As a litigator with a focus on alternative dispute resolution, Ben has a unique perspective on adversarial matters. During law school Ben completed internships with the Supreme Court of Vermont and the Attorney General of Maine, as well as an externship at the First Circuit Court of Appeals with Judge Kermit Lipez. After graduating, Ben gained further insight into the judicial process by clerking for Associate Justice Joseph M. Jabar of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Ben’s experience working with judges—including at the highest appellate state court—gives him a better understanding of the law as it is viewed from behind the bench, and he brings this valuable perspective with him when he’s called to stand up before it.
