Barrie Hayes

Barrie Hayes graduated from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 1979 and has been serving clients throughout Simcoe County for more than four decades. Based in Barrie, Ontario, Barrie practises in the areas of Family Law, Trusts and Estates, and estates litigation. He assists individuals and families with a wide range of legal matters, including separation and divorce, parenting and support issues, estate disputes, and elder law matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Barrie is a certified mediator and previously served as a Dispute Resolution Officer for the Superior Court of Justice – Family Court Branch. His experience in mediation and dispute resolution allows him to help clients work toward practical and constructive outcomes both inside and outside the courtroom.

Barrie is a member of the Simcoe County Family Law Lawyers Association, the Simcoe County Criminal Law Lawyers Association, and the Ontario Bar Association. He is a past president of the Simcoe County Law Association and the Simcoe County Family Law Association, and previously served on the executive committee of the Ontario Bar Association’s Family Law Section. Barrie also holds the Osgoode Certificate in Elder Law.

Committed to the Barrie and Simcoe County community, Barrie has served as a board member for several local organizations, including the Barrie and District Chamber of Commerce, Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Stevenson Memorial Hospital Association, Mary McGill Mental Health Center, Community Living Association for South Simcoe, and various not-for-profit housing associations.
